Dr Aneeqah Hendricks is a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, practicing at Melomed Tokai. Dr Hendricks obtained her medical degree in 2005 from the University of Cape Town. She interned at Groote Schuur hospital in 2006 and performed her community service at Mowbray Maternity Hospital from 2007 to 2010. Dr Hendricks went on to complete her specialization qualification in 2016.
As a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician Dr Hendricks enjoys bringing new life into the world, and sharing in the excitement and joy on the faces of new parents. Her main focus is helping patients achieve a good outcome. As a mother herself, she can connect with her patients and share in their concerns. Dr Hendricks is open and honest, and considers all aspects when managing her patients including their socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds as well as their physical, emotional, psychological states. She takes time to learn about each patient and to explain what they can expect with regards to their medical conditions and pain management.
In her spare time Dr Hendricks loves traveling has done so extensively, she also enjoys watching movies and spending quality time with her family.
Dr Hendricks’ medical fields of interest include vaginal surgery, adolescent gynaecology, menstrual abnormalities, embryology, hormonal disorders, infertility, recurrent miscarriage and reproductive endocrinology.
Dr Hendricks cares for patients during pregnancy and childbirth, providing healthcare, monitoring, education and practical advice to expectant mothers. Dr Hendricks is available to counsel patients on family planning/birth control options and menopause. She can assist with the diagnosis and treatment of issues surrounding hormonal imbalances, and conditions such as uterine tumors (fibroids), endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Dr Hendricks investigates issues such as infertility, recurrent miscarriages and abnormal bleeding. She performs surgeries including caesareans, hysterectomies and polyp removals. Her practice also offers basic tests, ultrasounds and screening.
